Actions under this theme aim to increase visitor numbers and spend through the development of an increasingly sophisticated approach to tourism. The role of special interest niche markets and the importance of high-quality well-targeted provision, particularly in the shoulder months are especially recognised.

Homecoming 2014
CVS North and VGES have been awarded funding from the Community Project Development Scheme administered by the Sutherland Partnership to investigate opportunities for Homecoming 2014. Macleod Associates were appointed to invite ideas from community groups that may be included within a programme of events for 2014.
Cape Wrath Trail
Sutherland Partnership is working with its counterparts in Lochaber and Wester Ross and other partners to promote the Cape Wrath Trail to experienced and less experienced walkers. The project will use digital technology to provide information to visitors and at the same time bring economic, social and environmental benefits to the local communities along the route.
Wild North Festival
Following the successful pilot project in 2012 the festival will run again in 2013 from the 28th June to 7th July. More details on the Wild North 2013 coming soon. Or have a look on the Wild Flower Europe website or Wild North Festival Facebook page.
